Elephant 2 Revenge was already a fan favourite when it appeared in our Fall/Winter 2016 lineup. Ten years later, Elephant 2 Reborn Selvedge marks the fabric’s third release.
At 22oz, this Japanese selvedge denim feels dense and rigid when new. Breaking it in takes patience. With regular wear, the fabric softens dramatically, while the places that bend and rub begin to develop deep creases and pronounced texture. It remains the ultimate choice for those looking to engage in the "long game" of fading
Built to fade
At 22 ounces, this isn’t for the faint of heart. This dark indigo, 100% cotton denim is dense and rigid out of the box, requiring a real commitment to break in. However, the reward is unmatched: deep, high-contrast fades and incredible character development over time.
The cotton yarns are rope dyed with indigo, colouring their outer layers while leaving a lighter core. As wear removes indigo from the surface, creases and points of friction become much lighter than the surrounding denim. This is how Elephant 2 Reborn Selvedge develops the bold, high-contrast fades that made earlier releases so memorable.
The Details
The Elephant Reborn 2 Selvedge features a 10oz natural vegetable-tanned leather patch that adds a lighter contrast against the dark denim. It also includes our classic white, red, and white selvedge edge. Every pair is cut, sewn, and made in Canada.

Elephant 2 Reborn Selvedge releases Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 11am ET in Super Guy, Weird Guy, Easy Guy, Strong Guy, and True Guy, alongside the Denim Jacket and women’s True Girl.
