Elephant 2 Revenge was already a fan favourite when it appeared in our Fall/Winter 2016 lineup. Ten years later, Elephant 2 Reborn marks the fabric’s third release. What keeps bringing it back is the change that happens after you start wearing it.
At 22oz, this Japanese selvedge denim feels dense and rigid when new. Breaking it in takes patience. With regular wear, the fabric softens dramatically, while the places that bend and rub begin to develop deep creases and pronounced texture. For people who enjoy watching raw denim change, those first stubborn weeks are part of the experience.
Why the Fades Stand Out
The cotton yarns are rope dyed with indigo, which colours their outer layers while leaving a lighter core. As wear removes indigo from the surface, creases and points of friction can become much lighter than the surrounding denim. That is how Elephant 2 develops the bold, high contrast fades that made earlier releases so memorable.
The changes happen at each wearer’s pace. A pair of jeans will crease where its owner moves; the Denim Jacket will take shape through wear in its own way. The fabric starts out imposing, then gradually becomes more personal.
A 10oz natural vegetable-tanned leather patch adds a lighter contrast against the dark denim. Every piece is cut and sewn in Canada.
