How to use a Measurement Guide

JEANS

Waist measurement

Measured straight across the waistband from one side to the other.
  1. 1  Button up the Jeans.
  2. 2 Lay the jean out flat with the top front edge of the waistband even with the top back edge of the waistband. Pull tightly.
  3. 3 Measure from one edge of the waistband to the other. Double this measurement for the full waist circumference

Front Rise Measurement

Measured from the crotch seam straight up to the top of the waistband.
  1. 1 Locate the crotch seam intersection
  2. 2  Pull tightly together both the front rise and tape measure.
  3. 3 Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the waist band.

Back Rise Measurement

Measured from the crotch seam straight up to the top of the back waistband.
  1. 1 Turn the garment to access the back.
  2. 2 Pull tightly together both the back rise and tape measure.
  3. 3 Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the waist band.

Thigh Measurement

Measured straight across the leg.
  1. 1 Place the measuring tape at the far edge of the crotch seam.
  2. 2 From here, measure straight across to the outside edge of the jean. 

Knee Measurement

  1. 1 Measure 12 inches from the crotch down the inside seam of the leg.
  2. 2 From the 12 inch mark, measure straight across the leg from one edge to the other. 
  3. 3 Ensure the garment lies flat for accuracy

Leg Opening Measurement

Measured straight across the bottom hem of the garment.
  1. 1 Lay the garment flat with hem visible
  2. 2 Measure from one edge of the of the leg opening to the other. 

Inseam Measurement

Measured along the inside leg seam from the crotch seam down to the bottom hem.
  1. 1 Lay the jean with the inseam running down the center of the leg. Press flat.
  2. 2 Measure from the middle of the crotch stitching down the inseam to the bottom of the jean.

Pit to Pit

Button up the garment.

Lay the garment out flat, face up with the arms in "T" shape.

Measure from the edge of the armpit sewing to the other.

Button up the garment.

Lay the garment flat, front faced down and the arms in "V" shape.

Measure from one shoulder seam to the other.

Lay the garment flat, front faced down, arms in "V" shape.

Measure from where the collar band attaches to the yoke, straight down the middle of the shirt to the longest point of the hem.
