“Loosey-goosey” comes from “loose as a goose,” an expression for being relaxed and free of tension. A good state of mind, and a pretty accurate description for this new release.
This 11.5oz Japanese selvedge denim combines reduced yarn density with lower weaving tension, creating a more open construction in 100% cotton.
What Makes the Weave Loose?
Density is how closely the warp and weft yarns are packed together. Tension is how tightly the yarns are held during weaving.
Reducing both gives the yarns more freedom to move within the cloth. That’s what produces the fabric’s soft hand and fluid drape from the start.
Indigo Rope Dyed
The yarns are dyed in bundles through repeated indigo dips and exposure to air. Each cycle deposits colour and allows it to oxidize back to blue before the next dip.
The Details
The finished garments feature a buffed leather patch and tin hardware, with a button fly on the jeans. Each piece is cut and sewn in Canada.
