All Natural Ecru Foxfibre® Selvedge: A Story of Soil and Sustainability
At 13.6oz, the All Natural Ecru Foxfibre® Selvedge is crafted from unbleached organic cotton and Foxfibre®, a rare naturally colored cotton. This denim tells a story as old as time and as innovative as sustainable farming gets. A reminder that sometimes the best color doesn’t come from a dye vat, but from the soil.
Foxfibre® is no ordinary cotton. It’s the creation of Sally Fox, an agricultural visionary who spent decades developing naturally colored cotton varieties. Grown in Texas on a single organic farm, Foxfibre® cotton sprouts in rich, earthy tones—like warm browns and soft greens—that deepen over time. This eliminates the need for bleaching or dyeing, making it one of the most sustainable fibers in the world.
Sally’s work was groundbreaking in the 1980s and ’90s, defying a cotton industry obsessed with uniformity to champion diversity and environmental care. Her efforts saved ancient cotton genetics from extinction and put a spotlight on the possibilities of natural color in textiles.
As Sally says, “If you can grow the color, there’s no need to dye it.” That philosophy is woven directly into the All Natural Ecru Foxfibre® Selvedge, where every thread carries the integrity of her work.
The warp is unbleached organic cotton, giving the fabric a neutral, warm tone, while the Foxfibre® weft adds a subtle brown hue with speckles of texture from the brown neps. These neps aren’t flaws—they’re a signature of Foxfibre®, adding depth and richness that denim geeks will appreciate. The brown selvedge ID is a subtle but impactful nod to the fabric’s natural origins.
Over time, the Foxfibre® weft evolves beautifully. With every wash and wear, the naturally colored cotton deepens in tone, creating a patina that’s as unique as the wearer.
