MIJ18 – Mezuki Selvedge
Named after Mezu, the horse-headed guardian of the underworld in Japanese Buddhist folklore, the MIJ18 Mezuki Selvedge explores the duality between what is visible and what remains hidden beneath the surface.
The 16oz slubby Japanese selvedge denim is woven with black warp yarns and a beige weft. As the black surface fades through wear, the lighter weft gradually emerges, creating deep, high-contrast fades and revealing more of the fabric’s irregular texture.
