Required measurements
These measurements are required to generate a suggested size.
How to measure required fields
Waist
- Button the jeans.
- Lay them flat with the top front edge of the waistband aligned evenly with the top back edge.
- Make sure the waistband is straight and parallel, then pull it snug.
- Measure straight across the waistband from one edge to the other.
- Double that number before entering it here.
If the waistband is drooping, not parallel, or not pulled snug, the measurement will be inaccurate.
Upper Thigh
- Lay the jeans flat.
- Place the measuring tape at the far edge of the crotch seam.
- Measure straight across to the outside edge of the leg.
Measure straight across from the crotch seam. Do not follow the curve of the fabric.
Shoulder
- Button up the garment.
- Lay the garment flat, front facing down, with the arms in a V shape.
- Measure from one shoulder seam to the other.
Pit to Pit
- Button up the garment.
- Lay the garment flat, face up, with the arms in a T shape.
- Measure from the edge of one armpit seam straight across to the other.
Sleeve Length
- Lay the garment flat.
- Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.

How to measure - Help
Front rise
- Button the jeans and lay them flat.
- Smooth out the front rise.
- Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband.
Back rise
- Button the jeans and lay them flat.
- Smooth out the back rise.
- Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband.
Knee
- Lay the jeans flat.
- Measure 12 inches down the inseam from the crotch.
- Measure straight across the leg at that point.
Leg opening
- Lay the jeans flat.
- Measure straight across the hem from edge to edge.
Inseam
- Lay the jeans flat and smooth the inseam.
- Measure from the crotch seam down the inseam to the hem.
How to measure - Help
Body Length
- Lay the garment flat, front facing down, with the arms in a V shape.
- Measure from where the collar band attaches to the yoke straight down the middle.
- Measure to the longest point of the hem.
The MIJ18 Mezuki Selvedge takes its name from Mezu, the horse-headed guardian of the underworld who, alongside his ox-headed counterpart Gozu, serves as one of the chief torturers and punishers of the wicked in Japanese Buddhist folklore. Said to be the first beings encountered upon entering hell, the pair stand watch at its gates, escorting souls to their final judgement. Should a soul somehow escape, it is Mezu and Gozu who are sent to bring it back.
Strong Guy is a wide straight fit with a high rise. Comfortable through the seat and thighs, it combines a roomy silhouette with a clean straight leg.

As the black warp fades, the beige weft emerges, creating bold, high-contrast fades with exceptional depth.
The heavily slubbed yarns create an irregular surface that enhances the denim’s texture and fading potential over time. A Tempi treatment prevents the fabric’s residual shrinkage while preserving the crisp hand and aging characteristics expected of raw denim.

Love the feel and look of the fabric. The pocket bags seem a little bit more roughly attached compared to my other n&f jeans, and there was more substantial leg twist than expected out of the box than I would expect, not that I really mind. Fits a little bit differently than my other strong guy pair (more roomy top block) but not too different, and it's more comfy with the extra space
Sizing ended up being okay despite the tape measure mishaps mentioned on the live stream. A bit bigger than expected, but nothing that can't be solved with a wash or a belt. But your sizing is a bit strange , the waist of my dirty elephant strong guy in 32 fit like these mij18 strong guy in 34 and like my dirty fade true guy in 33. I suppose it doesn't really matter since i follow the size guides, but why not just base the tag sizes on the measurements across all products rather than being this inconsistent?
