The Three-Headed Monster Denim

If Godzilla is the powerful anti-hero of this collection, then the three-headed King Ghidorah is the definitive arch nemesis, whose 1964 debut film solidified Godzilla's role as the savior.

Mechagodzilla Selvedge – 19oz Denim Inspired by the 1974 Icon
Oct 17, 2025

The Mechagodzilla Selvedge is part of our official Godzilla® collaboration, created as a tribute to some of our favorite incarnations of the King of the Monsters and his most iconic foes. This edition draws its essence from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974), the film that first introduced Mechagodzilla, a mechanical doppelgänger built to destroy Godzilla, cold, metallic, and unforgettable from its riveted armor plating to its glowing red eyes and shoulder‑mounted weapons. We used those visuals as guiding principles in every detail of this denim. The fabric is a super‑heavy 19 oz Japanese selvedge denim, rugged and dense, slow to fade; the weft is dyed iron grey to evoke Mechagodzilla’s steel body, and along the selvedge edge you’ll find metallic silver and red yarns representing the gleaming chassis and red‑light accents of the original design. Woven in Japan, the fabric has a heavy hand, a dry surface feel, and stiff structure that softens and breaks in beautifully over time, designed for durability, just like the kaiju it honors. Each pair includes a natural veg‑tan leather patch embossed with silver‑foil Mechagodzilla artwork, dual‑branded woven labels, and full‑color pocket bags printed with classic Godzilla® posters. The film itself, released in 1974 as the 14th entry in the franchise, marked a shift to a darker, more brutal tone: Mechagodzilla was created by aliens, armed with lasers, missiles, and spinning fists, and early in the film its metal body disguised itself as Godzilla. That contrast, organic versus machine, is central to Mechagodzilla’s appeal, and we embraced that tension in designing the denim, marrying raw natural cotton with structured, high‑contrast armor. This release will come in Super Guy, Weird Guy, Easy Guy, True Guy & Strong Guy.
